Yes! I found task-master too overwhelming, taking too much control away, at least in an existing project, where I already had multiple PRDs and other documents.
I'll give it another try in a new project as a way for the agent to self-correct.

I have discovered it recently. So far I tried to generate PRD using Aider, gave the template that taskmaster provides. But what Aider generated, I couldn't split it into smaller tasks using taskmaster. Didn't looked in much after that, but want to give another shot.
Agree, best part of task master is breaking down tasks, giving it complexity and assigning dependencies.
Have you tried to create an implementation plan using https://github.com/eyaltoledano/claude-task-master/tree/main and then feed the generated tasks to Aider?
